Biography

McKenna grew up in Puyallup, WA, with her four brothers. She attended Puyallup High School where she was very involved with the debate team. In college, she switched to Policy Debate and was able to travel around the United States competing in that event. She also began working at the Sosa Law Firm in college, and would ride the sounder down from UW whenever she had time to help work on cases. She went down to New Mexico for law school, but ended up coming back here halfway through her schooling due to the pandemic. McKenna did her last year of law school from her office at the Sosa Law Firm, via zoom. She was also a Rule 9 Licensed Legal Intern for the year before becoming an attorney, which meant she had a limited license to practice under Carlos’s supervision.

McKenna’s favorite things are:

  • Spending time with her niece and nephew
  • Visiting her parents’ vacation house in Sunland, WA (near the Gorge)
  • Reading (non-academic books)
  • Taylor Swift (her dream job is to be Taylor Swift’s divorce attorney)
